Ohana’s Earn & Learn Nurse Aide Training Program:
Participants receive Free Nurse Aide Training and earn wages while attending class. Work will run concurrent with Nurse Aide Training Program (NATP). Great opportunity to explore careers in post-acute care.
Free Course Instruction with Full-time or Part-Time Employment:
- Training Program Dates: 6/29/26-7/30/26, class held every Monday & Tuesday, 8am-4:30pm
- Clinical Schedule: 7/29/26-7/30/26, 6am-2:30pm
- Duration: 100 hours, in-person instruction
- Course instruction provided by State approved Nurse Aide Training Program
- Training & Work Location: Hale Kupuna Heritage Home, Koloa
- Final step will include Prometric Exam to obtain Certified Nurse Aide status
The Position:
Nurse Aides/CNA’s are the primary caregivers in post-acute and long-term care settings, providing nursing care and services for residents, that include personal and restorative care and activities of daily living.
- Get paid while attending training program, and gain exposure to healthcare operations through hands-on work experience as a Care Assistant.
- Following completion of Nurse Aide Training Program, Care Assistants are promoted to Nurse Aide.
- Ohana Nurse Aides (NAs) orient new residents to the unit and facility: Call system, bathroom, shower schedule, and common areas; introduces to residents; informs of meal schedule, snack times, and activities calendar.
- Upon passing final Prometric Exam, Nurse Aides are promoted to Certified Nurse Aide as they continue their healthcare career pathway as primary care givers, responding to family requests, and informing Charge Nurse when required.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent / Minimum age of 18 by end of Nurse Aide Training Program.
- Completion of Hawaii Nurse Aide Training Program.
- Scheduled Prometric exam within 120 days of hire.
- Current and valid 2 Step TB clearance and health review (can be done in-house).
