About This Position
Position Summary
Provides quality nursing care through the application of the nursing process using evidence based practice focusing on excellent outcomes and patient experience within the framework of Shared Governance.
Primary Position Responsibilities

Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Required:
All hires after July 2012 are required to have a Bachelor's Degree in nursing OR if Associates Degree or Diploma, RN must provide proof of enrollment in a BSN program prior to hire, be continuously enrolled and complete within 5 years of hire date or internal RN promotion date.
Associates Degree AND 2 years of experience in the specialty area will be accepted in lieu of BSN.

Required:
3 years Operating Room experience or has demonstrated progressive growth and commitment.

License, Registry or Certification:
Required:
CNOR or will obtain within 18 months
Preferred:
Certification in specialty
Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:
Required:
● Must pass annual clinical competency based program and mandated in-service education. Unit specific skills may include but not limited to scrubbing and circulating. Skills will be determined by a challenge exam and/or skill performance or by completion of a Staff Development course.
● Preceptor - (must have gone through preceptor course or will be going through the course within 6 months) of acceptance to specialty nurse role.
● Demonstrates excellent follow up and follow through ability
● Excellent communication skills
● Good computer skills
● Knowledgeable of AORN standards, Joint Commission and DOH regulations
● Knowledgeable of O.R. procedures and practice
Preferred:
2 years scrubbing and circulating experience in various specialties including robotic surgery
