Director of Development- Santé | Silver Spring, MD | Full-Time
Affiliated Santé Group is one of Maryland's leading nonprofit behavioral and mental health organizations, providing crisis response, mobile crisis teams, peer recovery programs, call center services, and outpatient behavioral health services across 18+ locations statewide. When someone is in a mental health crisis in Maryland, there is a good chance Santé is part of that response.
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Director of Development to lead and grow our philanthropic fundraising program. This is a newly elevated role focused on closing the gap in unrestricted and privately contributed funding by building meaningful relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, and private foundations. What You Will Do:
- Develop and execute Santé's annual Development Plan including major gifts, annual giving, direct mail, special events, and endowment campaigns
- Build and manage a personal portfolio of major gift donors focused on securing five and six figure unrestricted gifts
- Identify and cultivate relationships with Maryland and national corporate partners and private foundations
- Collaborate closely with the CEO, Chief of Staff, and Board of Directors to maximize their involvement in fundraising
- Oversee donor database management including gift recording, pledge tracking, and donor acknowledgment
- Partner with Santé's external marketing vendor to ensure all communications, digital campaigns, and brand assets are aligned with fundraising and programmatic goals
- Manage media relations, public speaking engagements, and community ambassador responsibilities on behalf of Santé
What We Are Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree required in marketing, communications, nonprofit management, public health, social work, or related field — Master's degree preferred
- 7 to 10 years of progressive nonprofit fundraising experience with at least 3 years in a senior or leadership role
- Demonstrated track record of closing five and six figure gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations
- Experience fundraising in behavioral health, mental health, social services, or a related mission-driven field strongly preferred
- Familiarity with Maryland's philanthropic landscape including local foundations and corporate giving programs
- Proficiency with donor CRM platforms such as Raiser's Edge, Salesforce, Bloomerang, or similar
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate clinical and programmatic work into compelling donor narratives
- CFRE certification preferred
