JOB SUMMARY

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) delivers care under the direction of a Physical Therapist, following established treatment plans using evidence-based strategies. The PTA collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality care, optimal outcomes, and patient satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver high-quality physical therapy care to optimize clinical outcomes
  • Prioritize patient care and manage assigned caseload efficiently
  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist
  • Administer and advance treatment programs according to goals defined by the Physical Therapist and patient tolerance, consistent with physician orders
  • Educate patients on exercises, treatment protocols, and injury prevention
  • Document patient condition, treatments, and progress accurately and timely
  • Provide ongoing updates to the supervising Physical Therapist regarding patient progress and status
  • Collaborate with the Physical Therapist to adjust treatment plans as needed
  • Administer various physical therapy modalities and interventions as directed by the Physical Therapist

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
  • Current state license as a Registered Physical Therapist Assistant
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience in outpatient orthopedics preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of injury treatment, rehabilitation, and prevention
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to push, pull, carry, and lift equipment necessary for patient care

  • Carrying/Lifting: Frequently (up to 50 pounds)
