Job Description
As a Receiving Supervisor you are responsible for overseeing all incoming deliveries of fresh fruit, packaging materials, and supplies into the facility. This role ensures accurate receiving, quality inspections, traceability compliance, and efficient unloading operations while supervising a team of clerks and forklift operators. The Receiving Supervisor plays a critical role in supporting inventory accuracy and smooth transitions from field to production.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Supervise daily receiving operations, including incoming fruit, packaging, and materials.
· Assign and monitor tasks for receiving clerks and forklift operators.
· Ensure all product is received, labeled, and logged accurately and promptly.
· Coordinate closely with Inventory, QC, and Production to communicate arrivals and issues.
· Support pre-season preparation and end-of-season reconciliation efforts.
· Maintain receiving logs, records, and traceability data for audits and internal use.
· Monitor receiving area to ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety.
· Train receiving staff on SOPs, safety protocols, and food safety policies.
· Resolve discrepancies with deliveries, damaged goods, or mislabeling.
· Verify quality, condition, and documentation (e.g., bills of lading, field tags, lot codes).
Requirements:Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required, college coursework in logistics, agriculture, or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in receiving, inventory, or warehouse roles, preferably in produce or food manufacturing.
- Previous supervisory or team lead experience required.
- Experience with traceability systems and perishable goods preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish
Skills
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with receiving/inventory systems and Microsoft Excel or similar tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, seasonal environment.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
