Role Summary

Kings River Packing is seeking an Inventory Planner to manage inventory health, ensure proper product rotation, and coordinate repack activities to support customer demand and quality requirements. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Quality Assurance (QA), Allocation, shed operations, and third-party repack partners to optimize aged inventory, maintain product specifications, and ensure timely order fulfillment.

This position plays a key role in aligning inventory strategy with operational execution to support overall supply chain efficiency in a fast-paced environment.


What You'll Do

  • Monitor aged inventory and proactively develop pack plans to optimize product utilization and minimize waste.
  • Create, communicate, and oversee execution of detailed pack plans and schedules with third-party repackers.
  • Manage and enforce proper inventory rotation practices in alignment with FIFO/FEFO standards and company guidelines.
  • Collaborate with QA to review customer specifications and assign appropriate inventory to meet order requirements.
  • Partner with the Allocation team to assess inventory availability and align supply with customer demand.
  • Maintain oversight of shed-level inventory and monitor overall inventory health.
  • Ensure accurate tracking of repack activities and maintain proper system documentation.
  • Identify risks related to aging inventory and recommend corrective or preventative actions.
  • Maintain clear communication with internal stakeholders and external repack partners regarding timelines, priorities, and adjustments.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory planning and product movement.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, operations management, or related field preferred.
  • 2–4 years of experience in inventory planning, supply chain, logistics, or related operational role.
  • Strong understanding of inventory rotation principles (FIFO/FEFO).
  • Experience working with third-party vendors, co-packers, or repack facilities preferred.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Demands & Abilities

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in office, warehouse, and shed environments as needed.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
