For more than a decade, we’ve delivered business insights, marketing strategies, and brand activations for leading organizations across industries ranging from telecommunications to major league sports.
Our people make Athena, Athena. As a three-time Philadelphia Inquirer Top Workplace, we pride ourselves on fostering an environment where passion meets excellence. We are solutions‑oriented, collaborative, and not afraid to roll up our sleeves to make work that works—while sharing a few laughs along the way.
About the Role
Athena is seeking a high-performing Sr. Analyst to serve onsite with a leading telecommunications client. This is a client-facing, high-visibility role for a data- and insights-driven storyteller who can translate performance data and customer insights into clear narratives and executive-ready recommendations across sales, marketing, and customer experience.
You will partner with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g. Marketing, Sales, CX, Analytics, Competitive Intelligence) to scope and deliver insights that drive decision-making. You’ll lead intake and prioritize insights requests and produce executive-ready readouts that connect performance to implications and recommended actions.
Experience Level: 3–5 years of relevant experience in sales, marketing, customer experience, insights/analytics, or consulting equivalent.
Primary Responsibilities
- Leverage existing dashboards and reporting to investigate performance drivers (e.g., segmentation by market, source-of-sale drilldowns, product mix, etc.) and synthesize findings into clear takeaways for non-technical audiences.
- Proactively identify the most decision-useful views, metrics, and cuts; recommend dashboard enhancements and partner with analytics/reporting teams to prioritize, test, and monitor changes.
- Own the intake and triage of insights requests: define the decision to be made, align on scope and success criteria, confirm assumptions/definitions, set timelines, and manage stakeholder expectations through completion.
- Monitor and curate internal and third-party insights (e.g., consumer/industry research, brand and CX signals); surface implications for marketing communications and go-to-market priorities.
- Track competitive updates and performance signals; coordinate with competitive intelligence partners to determine marketing and communications impacts and recommended responses.
- Develop executive-facing narratives and materials for Senior Leadership Team forums (e.g., MBR/QBR): storyline, key insights, risks/opportunities, and recommendations.
- Facilitate recurring working sessions (e.g., bi-weekly insights reviews): set agendas, capture decisions and actions, and ensure follow-through with owners.
- Support onboarding and enablement for new stakeholders by documenting standard definitions, dashboard usage guidance, and “how we measure” reference materials.
Qualifications & Skill Set
- 3 – 5 years in sales, marketing, CX, insights/analytics, strategy, or consulting; telecom or subscription-based services experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical fluency with the ability to interpret dashboards and performance reporting, spot trends/outliers, validate assumptions, and identify data quality issues.
- Proven aptitude for translating complex data into crisp narratives, implications, and recommendations tailored to stakeholder needs.
- Executive communication with a high proficiency in PowerPoint (executive decks) and Excel; ability to present succinctly and confidently to senior audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to lead workstreams, manage multiple priorities, and influence cross-functional stakeholders in a matrixed environment.
- Comfortable operating with client teams, clarifying ambiguous requests, and managing priorities across multiple partners.
- Highly organized, responsive, and detail-oriented; able to work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days)
- Trusted partner who reliably turns insights requests into clear analyses, implications, and actions.
- Improved stakeholder clarity and alignment through strong request intake, documentation, and follow-through.
- Executive-ready materials (e.g., leadership readouts, meeting summaries, and decks) that connect performance to narrative, implications, and recommendations.
- Identified at least 2–3 high-impact dashboard/reporting enhancements and partnered to implement
