Position Summary:
The Accountant I role provides transactional and administrative accounting support, assisting with project accounting, contract administration, and foundational financial processes under guidance from more senior team members. This role supports accounting processes but does not own full-cycle accounting responsibilities. This role is designed as an entry point into the accounting function, with opportunities to grow into broader accounting responsibilities over time.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Setup & Contract Administration
- Support preparation and administration of customer’s purchase orders.
- Assist with contract package preparation and distribution to internal team.
- Support project and sales order setup within ERP systems.
- Maintain contract documentation and flow downs.
- Support tracking of customer contract modifications and approvals.
- Support RMA processing.
- Assist in project and job closure.
Project Accounting Support
- Support project accounting activities, including documentation, billing preparation, tracking and ad hoc reporting with guidance from senior team members.
- Assist with milestone tracking and documentation.
Accounting Support
- Assist with preparation of journal entries, reconciliations including following up on corrective actions and resolutions, and supporting documentation under supervision.
- May assist on audit support and requests.
- Assist with month-end accounting support activities.
- Assist in cycle count data entry and variance reporting.
- Other activities as needed.
Learning and Development
- Develop foundational knowledge of GAAP, ERP systems, and manufacturing financial processes.
Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will possess the following knowledge, training, experience, and abilities to successfully perform this job.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (or working towards completion)
- 1-2 years of accounting or finance experience, or recent graduate with relevant internship experience. Internship or entry-level accounting experience preferred
- ERP system exposure preferred

Other:
Overtime may be required during peak periods (e.g., month-end close) but expected to be limited. Travel on rare occasions.

- Work Environment: This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.
Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this role is $60,000 - $75,000 and is commensurate with the applicant’s experience. This range represents the anticipated minimum and maximum base for this position. The final compensation for this position will be set based on the applicant’s qualifications (education, training and/or experience related to this role), and therefore, may fall outside the range shown, depending on the circumstances.
