Position Summary:
The Universityof New Mexico School of Medicine Department of Neurosurgery is recruiting aboard certified or board eligible, Open Rank, Open Track, generalneurosurgeon with a broad range of capabilities. More focused experience in treating intrinsictumors (gliomas), spine disorders, or brain trauma and comfort managing basicpediatric conditions are welcome. Aninterest in leading and growing the identified practice in Neurosurgery isdesirable. Join 9 establishedneurosurgeons and neurocritical care doctors practicing and teachingneurosurgery residents with the University of New Mexico.
The Universityof New Mexico is the only tertiary referral Neurosurgical center in the Stateof 2.3 million people. There is a significant need and opportunity to assumeand expand an established general neurosurgical practice. Overall, the department has a comprehensivepractice encompassing the full range of neurological disorders in both adultand pediatric patients. This practice issupported by an experienced group of 20 advanced practice provides and anexpanding ACGME-approved residency. Participation in coverage of brain andspine trauma for UNM Hospital, the only Level 1 trauma center in the state, isexpected.
