This leadership role is responsible for managing the end-to-end placement and risk management process for commercial insurance accounts while leading a high-performing team of risk placement professionals. You will ensure consistent quality in underwriting, marketing, and placement of new business, while fostering strong relationships with insurance carriers and internal sales teams. By driving placement strategies, process improvements, and performance metrics, you will directly influence client satisfaction, revenue growth, and risk mitigation. The role requires balancing strategic oversight with hands-on accountability, developing talent, and promoting a collaborative, results-driven culture. Your efforts will shape a seamless experience for clients and internal stakeholders while maintaining compliance and operational excellence.
- Lead and supervise a high-functioning team of Risk Placement professionals, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Oversee marketing, underwriting, and placement of new business accounts submitted by the Sales Team, maintaining consistent quality and service.
- Develop and implement placement strategies, monitor performance, and drive process improvements and productivity-enhancing tools.
- Maintain and foster positive relationships with insurance carrier marketing, underwriting, and support staff.
- Act as a resource for coverage, troubleshooting, and resolution of complex client and internal inquiries.
- Collaborate with Sales and Service Management to ensure cohesive operations, risk mitigation, and efficient workflow management.
- Promote agency culture, core values, and employee development while recognizing and motivating team performance.
Requirements:
- 5–7 years of commercial insurance experience with comprehensive knowledge of products, markets, and coverages.
- Active Property/Casualty insurance license required.
- Proven leadership and team management experience, with ability to mentor and develop high-performing staff.
- Strong strategic thinking, critical analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with a professional demeanor.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer applications.
- Ability to manage complex workflows, prioritize workload, and maintain high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible work schedule, including availability for occasional off-hours support.
- High School diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
