About Foxleigh Mine:
Foxleigh Mine is located 15km south of Middlemount and approx. 275km northwest of Rockhampton. The mine is in its 25th year of operation producing premium PCI metallurgical coal for use in steel manufacturing. At Foxleigh we take great pride in achieving our objectives and for us wining is the combination of care and results.
Foxleigh Mine is located in Queensland’s Bowen Basin coalfield, 12km south of Middlemount and 272km northwest of Rockhampton. The mine was established in 1999 as an open cut operation producing benchmark quality, LV PCI coal for the export market.
About the Role:We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Survey Technician to join our Technical Services team. This position provides an excellent opportunity to develop practical surveying skills within a large-scale open-cut mining environment. You will work alongside experienced surveyors and operational teams while gaining exposure to contemporary surveying technologies, equipment, and methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:Adherence to safe working practices in the execution of all dutiesKnowledge of, and compliance with, all relevant statutory requirementsSetting out dig limits, crest/toe lines, and other design parameters in the fieldClose collaboration with the Production team to ensure clear communication of set-out limits and execution requirementsWeekly acquisition of as-built survey data using an RTK droneWeekly design compliance reporting and presentationEnd-of-month void and coal stockpile surveying, waste mining reconciliation, and reportingPeriodic water level measurements for dams and other water bodiesAs-required acquisition of as-built data using an RTK drone and/or Trimble GPS
About you:A successful candidate will possess the following:A degree in Surveying or Spatial Science, or progress toward completion, is beneficial.Remote Pilot Licence – beneficial.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.A willingness to learn and develop within a supportive team.Clear communication skills and a proactive approach to solving problems.Interest in drone surveying, GPS technology, and modern digital surveying tools.
