Position Summary
The security officer's role is crucial in maintaining excellent working conditions at our premises. They will be responsible for surveilling our premises and safeguarding our staff and visitors at a designated work site. Their duties include detecting suspicious behavior and preventing vandalism, theft, or other criminal activities. The security officer must be proficient in surveillance techniques and dealing with perpetrators. An ideal candidate should inspire respect for authority and have a keen sense of observation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish a presence.Monitor and authorize the entrance of vehicles or people on the property.Remove wrongdoers or trespassers from the area.Secure all exits, doors, and windows at the end of operations.Check surveillance cameras periodically to identify disruptions or unlawful acts.Investigate suspicious activities or possessions.Respond to alarms by investigating and assessing the situation.Provide assistance to people in need.Submit reports of daily surveillance activities and important occurrences.Maintain accurate documentation and records related to job functions.Collaborate with internal departments and external partners, as necessary.Ensure compliance with all applicable safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.Promptly report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or incidents to management.Participate in required training sessions and safety briefings.Perform other duties as assigned to meet operational needs.
Required Qualifications
- DPS licensed AZ Unarmed Guard card is required.Proven experience as a security officer or guard.Knowledge of legal guidelines for area security and public safety.Familiarity with detailed report writing and observation techniques.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Familiarity with CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design), the Incident Command System, and critical infrastructure protection.Prior military or law enforcement experience is advantageous.Bilingual ability is a plus.Excellent surveillance and observation skills.Tech-savvy, with experience in surveillance systems.Trained in First Aid/BLS and self-defense.Registered as a security officer.High school diploma required.Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
