Sales Application Engineer at Kito Crosby – Tulsa, Oklahoma

Job Summary

This position requires general knowledge of all Crosby products and their applications, with a focus on blocks and sheaves. The position will be responsible for communicating with customers, understanding their applications and requirements, estimating costs, preparing quotations, maintaining quote follow-up activity and working with design engineering to develop complete designs and drawings. This position is on-site in Tulsa, OK.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential)

1. Analyze and interpret customer inquiries, including specifications to select and/or design appropriate equipment for the application.
2. Work with procurement and directly with vendors to develop cost estimates.
3. Set product pricing in collaboration with management and pricing analysts.
4. Determine drawings needed for quotation and coordinate their completion with design engineering.
5. Write, edit, issue, and follow up on formal quotations to the customer.
6. Assist with the creation and modification of sales documents to update skills and tools needed to continue improving performance and knowledge.

Required:

• Customer-oriented – ability to communicate orally and in written form with internal and external customers and suppliers.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills; understanding of engineering and financial principles.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly with Excel

Preferred:

• 2+ years’ experience working in an Application/Sales, or engineering role
• Experience working in a manufacturing company or familiarity with industrial products

Education Requirements:

2 year degree (engineering or business-related preferred)

Normal office conditions. Job demands may require long periods of sitting, telephone work and/or computer work, as well as interaction with other people. Normal office conditions include walking, standing, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, lifting, driving and/or traveling.

May occasionally visit shop. Shop conditions are variable depending on task assignment. Is subject to shop noise, skin and eye are subject to fumes, vapors, and solutions controlled to OSHA standards.
