Job Description

Position Summary

The Warehouse Assistant plays a key role in keeping daily operations running smoothly. This position supports shipping and receiving, production assembly, inventory accuracy, and general warehouse organization. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a hands-on environment that includes both warehouse and light production duties.

Key Responsibilities

Shipping & Receiving

  • Coordinate daily inbound and outbound shipments; maintain accurate records of all shipping and receiving activity.
  • Prepare shipping documents, packing lists, and mailing labels.
  • Pull, pack, and ship customer orders accurately per the sales order received.
  • Verify received materials against purchase orders, packing lists, and RMA forms.
  • Maintain adequate shipping supplies inventory and communicate shortages to management.
  • Drive company vehicles and trailers to pick up and deliver materials, equipment, and orders from vendors and clients as needed.

Inventory Management

  • Participate in weekly cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Assist the team with inventory check-outs and check-ins, ensuring accurate tracking of all materials.
  • Identify and communicate inventory discrepancies and shortages based on present and anticipated needs.
  • Load, unload, and organize product and equipment in designated locations.

Production Support

  • Perform wiring, assembly, and testing of products and components.
  • Calibrate equipment and inspect finished assemblies for quality and defects.
  • Perform diagnostic testing on returned customer equipment (RMAs) to identify and document root cause of failure.
  • Assist Production with kitting bill of materials (BOMs) in accordance with the production schedule.
  • Ensure all production-related tasks are completed accurately, safely, and on schedule.

Warehouse Operations

  • Operate forklifts and hand-operated pallet jacks safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse, yard, and associated equipment.
  • Complete all work in a safe, neat, and professional manner in compliance with company policies.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Warehouse Manager on day-to-day tasks and priorities.
  • Communicate questions, concerns, and ideas to management promptly.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic math proficiency (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals).
  • Proficient with basic computer use and standard office equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to repeatedly lift 50–75+ pounds.
  • Ability to walk, sit, stand, climb, twist/turn, push/pull, squat, crawl/kneel, and reach above shoulder height for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements.
Minimum Requirements
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Previous warehouse, shipping/receiving, or production experience preferred.
  • Experience with hand and power tools is a plus.
  • Forklift certification preferred (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
