The Role:
The Director of Sales is a strategic leader overseeing all sales efforts to exceed financial targets for all revenue generating entities at the resort. Working closely with Marketing team, this position will be a hybrid role that will implement strategies to maximize profitability and brand recognition.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement comprehensive sales strategies aligned with the company's goals.
- Provide strategic guidance to various sales and marketing teams within the designated area.
- Discover new markets, business opportunities, and target segments to drive revenue growth.
- Ensure ambitious revenue targets are set and exceeded in close coordination with property teams.
- Develop a culture of collaboration and high performance among the sales and marketing teams at various properties.
- Understanding market trends, competitive landscapes, and customer preferences requires thorough market research.
- Assess market dynamics and make adjustments to strategies as opportunities arise.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
- Ensure seamless coordination between sales efforts and guest experiences with property managers.
- Manage the budget for the area's sales and marketing activities.
- Achieve revenue targets and ROI by monitoring expenditures.
- Ensure brand visibility and customer engagement are enhanced through the creation and execution of effective marketing campaigns.
- Adhere to brand standards across all properties and ensure consistency of brand messaging.
- Identify areas for improvement and evaluate strategies based on sales and performance reports.
- Optimize sales efforts by implementing data-driven decisions.
- Establish relationships and stay informed about industry trends by participating in industry events, conferences, and trade shows.
- Implement strategies as needed to overcome sales challenges in collaboration with property teams.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of strategies using sales data, marketing metrics, and performance reports.
- Actively selling of group, transient, wholesale and OTA accounts
- Participate in the development of marketing strategies to positively impact Lodging/Hotel
- In conjunction with the marketing department, oversee and manage the hotel’s sales & marketing coordinator
- Manage, via the hotel’s front office, reservations team and the on-site sales & marketing coordinator all group rooming list, deposits, room blocking, coordination, development of group resumes, etc.
- Manage with the on-site Sales & Marketing Coordinator in the development of all banquet event orders, etc. to ensure the success of group bookings in a manner that exceeds the expectations of the client
