Little Scholars is seeking a reliable, flexible, and experienced Third in Charge to support our leadership team and help ensure smooth daily operations. This role is ideal for a strong teacher who is ready to step into leadership responsibilities when needed.

Position Overview:
The Third in Charge serves as a key support to the Director and Assistant Director and must be prepared to step into a leadership role in their absence. This position requires flexibility, strong knowledge of licensing, and a willingness to assist in classrooms as needed.

Qualifications (Required):
Must be Director-qualified through the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services
Minimum of 1 years of experience in early childhood education
Strong understanding of DCFS licensing standards, ratios, and compliance
Previous leadership experience preferred
Must be dependable, flexible, and able to adapt to changing needs

Responsibilities:
Step into the role of Director or Assistant Director when they are unavailable
Support daily operations and ensure compliance with DCFS regulations
Assist with staff supervision, classroom support, and maintaining ratios
Float between classrooms and substitute as needed
Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment
Support communication with staff and families when needed
Assist with scheduling and general center needs as directed

Schedule:
Hours will vary based on the needs of the Director and Assistant Director
Must be flexible and available to adjust schedule as needed
