In this role, you will help build the foundational systems powering a next-generation hardware design infrastructure aimed at modernizing the CAD industry. You will work across backend, infrastructure, and systems-level layers to design, improve, and maintain the core platform that enables advanced design tooling at scale. This is a highly technical, hands-on engineering position where reliability, performance, and automation are central to your work. You will contribute to everything from distributed services and data pipelines to observability and developer tooling. Operating in a fast-moving, mission-driven environment, you will collaborate with a lean, highly skilled team while having the autonomy to influence critical architectural decisions. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving deep systems challenges and building tools that make complex infrastructure more robust and efficient.

• Design, build, and maintain core backend and systems infrastructure supporting platform reliability, scalability, and performance
• Develop automation tools and internal systems that improve developer workflows and reduce operational complexity
• Build and maintain integrations with external systems such as billing, CRM, authentication, and analytics platforms
• Improve observability, monitoring, and alerting systems to ensure strong visibility across all services
• Architect and support distributed systems, service-oriented architectures, and data pipelines
• Contribute to security-related systems including access control, permissions, and auditability frameworks
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across backend, infrastructure, and occasionally frontend layers
• Support system-wide improvements by stepping into frontend code when needed to resolve blockers or complete end-to-end fixes

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• Strong background in systems, platform, or infrastructure engineering roles
• Proficiency in Rust with solid experience in systems-level programming
• Deep understanding of database systems, including schema design, performance tuning, and operational reliability (both transactional and analytical)
• Experience with API design, distributed systems, and service integrations
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools and containerized deployment environments
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to operate autonomously in high-impact technical environments
• Strong bias toward automation, tooling, and reducing operational friction
• Experience in frontend development (JavaScript/React), billing systems (e.g., Stripe), or internal developer tools is a plus
• Exposure to CAD-related workflows or complex data pipelines is considered a strong advantage
