Adjunct Instructor, Life Sciences in Albany, New York at Albany College of Pharmacy

Position Summary:

The Department of Life Sciences at the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is seeking applications for part-time instructors to teach the following courses during the Fall 2026 semester:

• undergraduate General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, General Biology, Microbiology, and Anatomy & Physiology lab courses,
• undergraduate Biochemistry lecture course, and
• online graduate recitation course

The above courses, except for the online graduate recitation course, will be offered in-person and on-campus. Positions will run from August 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026. Note: All remote work must be done in a state in which the College is registered to do business in (New York, California, Idaho, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Texas, Wisconsin, Vermont).

Compensation is $4600/lecture course and $3900/lab course.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

• Instruction, course preparation, developing instructional materials, and grading
• Providing weekly office hours to support students

• Excellent communication (verbal/written), interpersonal skills, and organizational skills
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Adobe, Office 365, OneDrive, and Zoom

Education and Experience:

• Possess an advanced degree or relevant experience in the field of instruction.

• Ideal candidates will have excellent subject knowledge, teaching skill, and prior experience working with students bound for graduate or professional schools.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Additional Information:

The part-time Adjunct Instructor positions in the Department of Life Sciences are based in Albany, NY. The duties and responsibilities require consistent, in-person collaboration and interaction with our community, and all work is expected to be performed on-site, except for the online graduate recitation course, which may be delivered remotely. Additional details pertaining to this position will be discussed during the interview process.
