Duties
- Perform daily financial transactions, including verifying to ensure all supporting documentation is complete, and classifying to correct ledger accounts
- Conduct regular balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
- Assist in the preparation of Manufacturer Warranty Claims and submissions, as well as posting payments to the correct warranty ledger account
- Collaborate with the BDC Department to assist in answering office telephones, setting service appointments for customers, and checking on their vehicles
- Prepare and update inventory by entering invoices, posting dealer transfers, and assisting with the entry of vehicle sales into the inventory management system
- Assist with month-end processing and close
- Conduct warranty analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
- Maintain the company's office supplies and order supplies regularly
- Process accounts payable transactions and ensure timely payment to vendors
- Prepare payments to Outside Warranty Company for contracts sold, and prepare paperwork to notify the company of contract cancellations as necessary
Requirements:
- An associate degree in accounting or a business field required.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask with a high level of accountability and minimal supervision
- Proven experience in financial accounting or related role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations
- Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Must be over 18 years old
- Must be able to pass a background check and motor vehicle report.
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Automotive accounting experience a plus
