Job Title: Distribution Technician II

Job Summary

Speare Memorial Hospital is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Distribution Technician to join our Supply Chain Management team. The primary responsibilities of this role include managing inventory receiving and distribution, and ensuring efficient inventory management. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the seamless flow of medical supplies and equipment, contributing to the hospital's mission of delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Inventory Receiving and Distribution:
    1. Receive and inspect incoming shipments of medical supplies and equipment for accuracy, quality, and condition.
    2. Document and report any discrepancies or damages in received goods to the Supply Chain Manager.
    3. Organize and distribute inventory to the appropriate departments within the hospital, ensuring that all areas are adequately stocked.
    4. Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, distribution activities, and warehouse transactions.
  2. Inventory Management:
    1. Monitor inventory levels to ensure that stock is maintained at optimal levels to meet the needs of the hospital.
    2. Perform regular inventory audits and cycle counts to verify stock accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
    3. Assist in the implementation of inventory control procedures and systems to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
    4. Coordinate with the Supply Chain Manager to forecast supply needs and place orders accordingly.
    5. Utilize inventory management software to update records, track inventory movements, and generate reports.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in supply chain management or logistics is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and basic computer skills.
