Job Description
HIM professional who is responsible for successfully managing the day-to-day operations of the Medical Staff Incomplete Records for all hospitals and clinics within Ephraim McDowell Health. Works closely with members of the Medical Staff to complete patient records in accordance with Medical Staff Bylaws, The Joint Commission, and CMS regulations. Maintains a sensitive, fair, and impartial approach to the Medical Staff suspension process. Prepares reports for Medical Staff Committees on percent of delinquent records. Must exhibit the F.I.R.S.T. values. (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service, and Trust).
Working Conditions, Hazards and Physical Effort
Works in a typical office setting. Ability to move or position medium weight files under 25 lbs. The tasks of this job do not involve exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissue.
Minimum Qualifications or Equivalents
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be knowledgeable of medical terminology, The Joint Commission Standards, and Medical Staff Bylaws. Highly motivated and self-directed.
Experience:
Five years’ experience in HIM required. Education may substitute for experience.
