We are seeking a dedicated EHS Specialist to join our team under the supervision of the Sr. Manager of Compliance & EHS. The EHS Specialist will maintain, develop, and apply various safety and compliance programs, including occupational health and safety, fire safety, emergency response, hazardous and special waste management, industrial hygiene, respiratory protection, and environmental programs. This role requires extensive knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations for occupational and environmental safety. The ideal candidate will also be familiar with electronic waste recovery and recycling processes to provide necessary EHS support.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with all aspects of EHS, including regulations, certification standards, environmental record-keeping, safety audits, and accident investigations.
  • Maintain environmental records and manuals for programs for EPA, Water Board, Air Quality, EMD, OSHA, DOT, DMV, etc.
  • Maintain safety and environmental documentation and compliance with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 9001, and other industrial certifications and standards.
  • Implement and monitor EHS management systems to ensure compliance with company policies and local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Prepare and submit periodic compliance reports to regulatory agencies as required.
  • Enhance, develop and conduct safety and environmental training programs to improve the company safety culture.
  • Conduct inspections and safety observations to identify potential risks and health hazards, determine corrective or preventative measures, and follow up to ensure implementation.
  • Maintain incident, near-miss, and corrective/preventive action report programs.
  • Initiate incident investigation and report thorough root cause analysis and take preventative actions.
  • Track and measure accident trends to promote a positive safety culture and prevent recurrence of near misses and incidents.
  • Assist with maintaining preparedness for Emergency Action Plans and Procedures.
  • Monitor Hazardous Waste management system to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Provide up-to-date regulatory guidance to all departments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, or Occupational Health preferred.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in EHS field and Safety Program development role.
  • Experience with EHS management systems, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 9001; formal auditor training preferred.
  • Experience developing and auditing EHS programs in industrial settings preferred.
  • Knowledge of and experience with reviewing and applying Federal, state, and local EHS regulations, including DOT hazardous materials regulation, EPA Hazardous Waste regulation, RCRA, CCR, Title 22, Division 4.5, and Cal/OSHA.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with problem-solving and timely decision-making.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Full-time on-site work required.

Compensation and Schedule:

  • Salary Range: $65,000 to $95,000 per year.
  • Steady Onsite full-time work: Monday-Friday 8:30-5:00.
