UNC Health Appalachian at App Pulmonology Clinic is seeking a dedicated and qualified Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA/RMA/CMA) with ARRT certification to join our esteemed team in Boone, NC. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of exceptional patient care in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Responsibilities:

Patient Care: Provide compassionate and competent patient care under the supervision of healthcare providers in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.

Clinical Support: Assist healthcare providers with clinical procedures, examinations, and treatments as required.

Vital Signs Measurement: Accurately measure and record vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.

Patient Education: Educate patients on procedures, medications, and preventive healthcare measures as directed by healthcare providers.

Electronic Health Records (EHR): Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records by documenting patient information, test results, and treatment plans in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain medical equipment and instruments ensuring cleanliness, functionality, and safety.

Administrative Duties: Performing various administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and assisting with medical billing and coding.

Compliance: Adhere to all regulatory requirements, organizational policies, and safety standards to ensure the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.

Qualifications:

Certification: Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required.

ARRT Certification: Possess a valid certificate from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Must be certified within 90 days of hire date.

Education: Completion of an accredited medical assistant program or equivalent education required.

Experience: Prior experience in a healthcare setting preferred but not mandatory.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Team Player: Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing clinical and administrative tasks.
