Job Description

Technical Communications & Storytelling Lead

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Communications & Storytelling Lead based in the United States.

This is a high-impact strategic communications role focused on translating complex technical strategy into clear, compelling, and decision-enabling narratives. Sitting close to executive leadership, you will help bridge the gap between what is being built across engineering, product, and platform teams and how it is understood across the organization and by external stakeholders. You will shape CTO-level messaging, executive presentations, and strategic narratives that align teams around platform evolution and product direction. The role requires exceptional clarity of thought, strong storytelling ability, and the capacity to simplify highly technical concepts without losing depth or accuracy. You will operate in a fast-moving, AI-driven environment where communication quality directly influences prioritization, alignment, and execution speed. This is a unique opportunity to define how technical strategy is communicated at scale in a complex, enterprise technology organization.

Accountabilities:
  • Develop and own executive-level technical narratives that articulate platform strategy, product evolution, and long-term technical direction.
  • Translate complex engineering and architecture concepts into clear, structured, and high-impact communication materials.
  • Create executive-ready presentations, briefing documents, and talk tracks for board-level, leadership, and customer-facing discussions.
  • Connect technical initiatives to business outcomes, customer value, and strategic priorities to support decision-making.
  • Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or ambiguity in technical messaging and proactively drive clarity and alignment.
  • Establish scalable storytelling frameworks, templates, and communication standards across technical and product teams.
  • Collaborate with internal communications and leadership teams to ensure consistency across all internal and external messaging.
  • Use AI tools and modern workflows to accelerate synthesis, drafting, and iteration of high-quality communications.
  • Tailor messaging effectively across engineering, executive, and external stakeholder audiences while maintaining technical accuracy.
  • Strengthen cross-functional alignment by acting as a bridge between technical and business-focused teams.
Requirements:
  • 8–12+ years of experience in technical communications, engineering, product, or a related technical storytelling role.
  • Strong understanding of software systems, architecture concepts, APIs, and platform design principles.
  • Proven ability to translate highly complex technical topics into clear, structured, and compelling narratives.
  • Excellent writing, storytelling, and presentation skills, including advanced PowerPoint and visual communication capabilities.
  • Experience supporting executive-level communications, including board materials, strategy presentations, and leadership messaging.
  • Strong ability to quickly build context across unfamiliar technical domains and synthesize key insights.
  • Demonstrated success working cross-functionally across engineering, product, and leadership teams in fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous settings and drive clarity where alignment is lacking.
  • Strong influence and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools to enhance productivity, synthesis, and content creation is highly valued.
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation with performance-based incentives.
  • Comprehensive health coverage including medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Paid time off, parental leave, and flexible work arrangements.
  • Strong focus on learning, development, and continuous skill growth.
  • Opportunity to work closely with executive leadership on high-visibility strategic initiatives.
  • Access to AI-first tools and workflows shaping the future of technical communication.
  • Inclusive, collaborative culture with strong emphasis on innovation and knowledge sharing.
