Join our Community Services Board (CSB) team as a Part-Time Transportation Driver and help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities safely access meaningful day support services and community activities. No special driver’s license or endorsements are required!
As a Transportation Driver, you’ll do more than drive—you’ll be an important part of helping individuals maintain independence, build community connections, and enjoy enriching daily experiences. What You’ll Do
- Safely transport individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities to and from the Day Support Program and community-based activities in wheelchair accessible vans.
- Assist passengers with boarding, exiting, and securing mobility devices as needed.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns.
- Maintain accurate transportation logs and required documentation.
- Ensure that the Program Vehicles receive the required Preventive Maintenance (PM)
- Follow all traffic laws, agency policies, and safety procedures.
- Foster a respectful, person-centered environment while interacting with individuals, families, and staff.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and support individuals in a calm, professional manner.
Required Qualifications:
Vocational/Educational Requirement: Requires instruction that is sufficient for satisfactory job performance.
Experience: In addition to satisfying the vocational/educational standard, this class requires a minimum of one month of related, full-time equivalent experience.
Special Certifications and Licenses: Requires a valid driver’s license and a driving record in compliance with City Driving Standards. Depending on departmental assignment, may require at least a valid CDL Class C license to operate a multi-passenger vehicle with an occupancy of 16 or more passengers. May be required to obtain a CDL Class B license with Passenger Certification based on assignment.
Special Requirements: Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Emergency operations support work and work locations may be outside of normal job duties.

- Ability to pass CPR, First Aid, TOVA training, and be certified by Modivcare
- Any prior experience working with the ID population
