Senior Revenue Accountant

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Revenue Accountant based in United States.

This role offers the opportunity to support a growing finance organization by driving accurate revenue accounting practices within a fast-scaling SaaS environment.
The position focuses on technical accounting, contract analysis, financial reporting, and process improvements that enable sustainable business growth.
You will collaborate with teams across Sales, Legal, Billing, Revenue Operations, Product, and Finance to solve complex accounting challenges.
The role combines technical expertise, analytical thinking, cross-functional partnership, and continuous improvement.
You will play a key part in strengthening revenue processes, improving financial systems, and supporting scalable operations.

Accountabilities:
  • Review customer contracts, order forms, amendments, renewals, and pricing structures to ensure accurate revenue recognition treatment under ASC 606.
  • Analyze complex and non-standard contract terms and collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine appropriate accounting conclusions.
  • Support monthly revenue close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, flux analysis, and management reporting.
  • Perform detailed analysis of revenue, deferred revenue, and related financial statement accounts.
  • Evaluate revenue implications of subscription, usage-based, and consumption-based pricing models.
  • Prepare revenue compliance documentation and maintain audit-ready support materials.
  • Partner with Sales, Deal Desk, Billing, Revenue Operations, Legal, FP&A, and other teams to improve Order-to-Cash processes and data accuracy.
  • Support new product launches, pricing initiatives, acquisitions, and system enhancements by assessing revenue accounting impacts.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen controls, and increase automation.
  • Support enhancements to financial systems and revenue tools to improve operational efficiency and reporting accuracy.
  • Assist with external audits, SOX readiness initiatives, and documentation requirements.
  • Contribute to special finance projects and strategic initiatives as needed.
Requirements:
  • 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, with a combination of public accounting and industry experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of ASC 606 and SaaS revenue recognition principles.
  • Experience reviewing customer contracts, renewals, amendments, and commercial agreements for revenue accounting implications.
  • Experience supporting subscription and usage-based pricing models in a SaaS environment strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with financial systems such as NetSuite and Salesforce; experience with Salesforce CPQ, billing platforms, or revenue automation tools is a plus.
  • Experience supporting financial system implementations, process improvements, or automation initiatives preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex transactions, identify risks, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across finance and business teams.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets using Excel and other reporting tools.
  • Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, curiosity, and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • CPA certification or CPA candidacy preferred.
  • Big Four or regional public accounting experience preferred.
