Job Description
This is a hybrid startup role that blends project coordination, general software development, and hands-on robotics / digital twin support. The person in this role helps turn early ideas into working prototypes, software utilities, 3D captures, simulation demos, and documented workflows. Expert-level experience with NVIDIA Omniverse, Isaac Sim, or 3D Gaussian Splatting is not required, but the role requires programming ability, strong organization, practical troubleshooting, and fast learning. As with most startup roles, responsibilities may evolve as products, customers, funding, and technical priorities change.
Primary Responsibilities
Project & Startup Coordination
· Help define and track project scope, tasks, milestones, deliverables, risks, blockers, and next steps.
· Maintain lightweight project plans, task boards, meeting notes, status updates, and stakeholder follow-up items.
· Coordinate work across founders, developers, contractors, clients, partners, vendors, or student contributors as needed.
General Software Development
· Develop, modify, test, and document scripts, utilities, prototypes, lightweight applications, APIs, or data workflows.
· Use Python where appropriate; C++, web tools, databases, or visualization tools may be used depending on project needs.
· Use Git/GitHub or similar version-control practices and document setup steps, dependencies, known issues, and reproducible workflows.
Digital Twins, Robotics & Simulation
· Learn and support NVIDIA Omniverse / Isaac Sim workflows, including scenes, assets, robot models, cameras, sensors, task environments, and basic simulation demos.
· Assist with robotics, automation, digital factory, XR, or applied AI prototypes that connect real-world systems to simulated or visualized environments.
· Integrate CAD models, USD files, 3D scans, meshes, textures, and other digital assets into useful demonstrations or product workflows.
3D Capture & Gaussian Splatting
· Learn 3D Gaussian Splatting and related spatial capture workflows such as photogrammetry, NeRF-style reconstruction, LiDAR-assisted capture, 360-degree capture, and camera-based scene reconstruction.
· Capture, process, evaluate, optimize, and document spatial datasets for demos, digital twins, training assets, client presentations, or research prototypes.
Documentation, Demonstrations & Communication
· Prepare short reports, setup guides, diagrams, screenshots, demo scripts, pitch-support materials, and technical explanations for nontechnical stakeholders.
· Support customer, investor, partner, grant, internal, or public-facing demonstrations involving software, robotics, cameras, XR devices, or digital twin assets.
Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree, associate degree, technical certificate, relevant coursework, or equivalent practical experience in computer science, robotics, engineering, manufacturing, digital media, game development, data analytics, project management, or a related field.
· General programming ability or strong evidence of ability to learn software development quickly; Python experience is preferred.
· Comfort installing, configuring, testing, and troubleshooting software tools, development environments, hardware setups, or technical workflows.
· Interest in digital twins, robotics, 3D graphics, XR, spatial capture, AI, automation, advanced manufacturing, and/or simulation.
· Clear communication, careful documentation, task ownership, and ability to work independently in an ambiguous startup environment.
Preferred Skills / Experience
· NVIDIA Omniverse, Isaac Sim, OpenUSD, Unity, ROS2, reinforcement learning, computer vision, and/or robotics simulation.
· 3D Gaussian Splatting, photogrammetry, NeRF tools, LiDAR scanning, 360 cameras, mobile capture, CAD conversion, mesh processing, or 3D asset pipelines.
· Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C++, APIs, databases, web development, visualization, automation scripting, and/or testing workflows.
· CAD or engineering tools such as Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Revit, AutoCAD, or comparable platforms.
· Project tools such as GitHub Projects, Microsoft Planner, Microsoft Project, or comparable systems.
· Startup, client-facing, technical demo, research, grant-support, product development, or technical sales support experience.
Initial 90-Day Deliverables
· Support set up and document the core development environment, repository structure, and task-tracking workflow.
· Produce one small NVIDIA Omniverse / Isaac Sim scene or simulation demo.
· Produce one usable 3D Gaussian Splatting or related spatial capture demo.
· Build or improve one lightweight software utility, script, web component, or automation workflow.
· Prepare documentation that another contributor can use to reproduce or extend the work.
Success Measures
· Regular progress on working prototypes, scripts, demos, captures, simulations, or client-ready workflows.
· Visible learning progress in Omniverse, Isaac Sim, Gaussian Splatting, and related digital twin / robotics tools.
· Clear task tracking, concise status updates, and proactive communication about blockers, risks, and next steps.
· Documentation quality sufficient for handoff, reuse, training, funding support, or future product development, with positive feedback from founders, project leads, clients, partners, or stakeholders.
