Job Description
The Designer produces and details routine drawings/layouts of components, panel configurations, facilities and/or systems. Generates and/or modifies computer-aided design (CAD) drawings of various complexities with engineering direction and guidance. Uses industry codes, standards, and customers specifications to prepare work plans, drawings, models, and layouts.
1. Works with engineering team to ensure drawings are clear and accurate
2. Develops CAD drawings and design models
3. Develops electrical wiring diagrams, panel layouts, etc.
4. Develops Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID)
5. Performs calculations in support of technical problems
6. Applies engineering design principles for component and assembly design as directed
7. Produces work in accordance with budget and schedule constraints
8. Works independently and as part of a team
9. Adapt to drawing format changes and standards
10. Calculate dimensions, weight limitations, and measurements for designs
11. Create diagrams and layouts to illustrate the workflow of designs
12. Ensure designs comply with company regulations and quality standards
13. Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:· Proficient in CAD software, drawing programs, and 3D modeling tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor, Creo, and/or SolidWorks.
· AutoCAD Electrical is a plus
· Excellent knowledge of electrical and instrumentation & controls design principles
· Solid math and analytical skills
· Proficient in MS Office
· Ability to meet tight deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Must be able to obtain and retain a security clearance
· High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years experience as a design drafter or a similar role, or,
· Bachelor of Science degree in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design," “Electrical Design,” "Architectural Design," "Mechanical Engineering Technology," or a similar field preferred
· AutoCAD, Vault, Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor, and Revit training preferred
