- Under direct supervision, primarily performs basic research or lab activities similar to a Research Assistant 1 or Lab Aide.
- Animal behavior assays, tissue sample collection and processing, library research, data collection, data analysis.
- Cleaning/sterilizing lab instruments and surfaces.
- Stocking lab with supplies.
Required Qualifications
- Enrolled in or on vacation from or is otherwise registered in an Undergraduate program (minimum 6 credit hours).
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to be self-motivated, to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines.
- Ability to gather, compile, analyze and maintain data in a range of formats.
- Strict adherence to research ethics and integrity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Student currently working towards a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience or a relevant field.
- Experience in research lab setting.
Familiarity with basic research lab processes and techniques.
Additional Details
The student will be working in a basic science research lab with chemicals, working at a desk for extended periods, entering an animal facility, and regularly handling flies and possibly mice for experiments.
