Prep and Novice Coach in Omaha, Nebraska at Wolfpack LLC dba Cheer Athletics Omaha

Cheer Athletics Omaha is currently hiring a part-time Prep and a Novice Coach!!!!!

Five years ago, we were a brand-new gym with four teams, a couple of tumbling classes and big dreams!

In that time, we have grown to 18 teams, over 60 classes, and the most amazing coaches and athletes. Season 5 will end in May, but Season 6 starts immediately after! We are looking for motivated cheer coaches to add to our already amazing staff. We are looking for all levels of Cheer Coaches experience (Rec, Prep, Novice, All-Star Levels 1-7).

Our Cheer Coaches:

• Co-Coach one or more teams, depending on availability
• Play a vital role in teaching cheer fundamentals
• Coordinate all aspects of the routines from choreography to music
• Lead productive practices and maintain a safe and positive environment
• Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to athletes
• Communicate (A LOT) with athletes, parents and other coaches
• Care a LOT about the athletes in the gym
• Are fun, caring and supportive
• Works late afternoons, nights and weekends, depending on team schedules
• Keep kids safe, thanks to ongoing training and CPR certifications
• Attend competitions, team events
• Spend time with their co-coaches to establish monthly and weekly goals for the team. Successful candidates will be enthusiastic and reliable. They should have prior experience coaching a cheer team. They should have the ability to teach stunting, tumbling and choreography, understand scoring rubrics (or be willing to learn them.)
• Take attendance and upload into Sports Engine during every practice
• Check your Band channels daily, post homework videos, team progress, updates, photos, videos, etc.
• Read and respond to Band messages and emails ASAP (from CA, parents, athletes, etc.)
• Host parent meetings in person and respond to parents’ phone calls quickly
• Attend staff develop meetings, clinics and other professional activities to improve coaching performance. Meetings may be in person or via Zoom.
• Ensure all deadlines and proper formats are met for music, choreography, legality reviews (8-count sheets, videos, etc.)
• If an athlete is injured during practice, Coach must reach out to parents and complete an Injury Report Form.

Professionalism/Teamwork

• Maintain professional conduct in and outside of the gym
• Follow CA, USASF and Sports Compliance standards and guidelines
• Promote your teams and program within the gym
• Take pride in the facility and do your part to keep it clean. Coaches must replace all equipment used during practices
• Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with leadership, fellow coaches/staff, parents and athletes

Outside of the Gym

• Prep work is required outside of practices. Lesson planning, scripting, choreography, goals for practice, posting Band messages, and writing athlete evaluations are just a few examples of required work that is done outside of the gym.
