High School Girls Flag Football Head Coach in Allentown, Pennsylvania at Lincoln Leadership Academy Charter School

Lincoln Leadership Academy Charter School is seeking a dynamic, experienced, and dedicated individual to serve as the Head Coach for our High School Girls Flag Football program. The ideal candidate will be passionate about developing student-athletes, building a strong team culture, and promoting leadership, sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth.

The Head Coach will be responsible for leading all aspects of the flag football program, including practices, games, player development, team management, and communication with student-athletes, families, and school staff.

Important Transportation Requirement: The Head Coach must be able and willing to drive a school van to and from all games and competitions. During the program's first year, there will be no home games, so all games will require travel.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership
Lead and oversee all aspects of the High School Girls Flag Football program.
Plan, organize, and conduct practices, conditioning sessions, and team activities.
Establish a positive, competitive, and inclusive team environment.
Promote sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork, accountability, and school pride.
Ensure the program operates in accordance with school policies and athletic department expectations.

Player Development
Develop and implement effective flag football drills, practices, and conditioning programs.
Teach fundamental skills, techniques, rules, and strategies of flag football.
Provide individualized instruction to help student-athletes improve their strengths and address areas for development.
Encourage athletes to develop confidence, leadership skills, and a strong work ethic.

Game Strategy and Coaching
Develop game plans and strategies based on team strengths and opponents.
Make effective in-game decisions and adjustments.
Manage substitutions, player positions, and game situations.
Attend and actively coach all scheduled games and competitions.
Work with assistant coaches and other staff to ensure effective game and practice preparation.

Player Motivation and Mentorship
Serve as a positive role model and mentor for student-athletes.
Encourage players to perform at their highest level both on and off the field.
Promote academic responsibility, good sportsmanship, and positive behavior.
Support the holistic development of student-athletes.

Communication
Communicate effectively and professionally with players, parents/guardians, school administration, teachers, and the athletics department.
Provide regular updates regarding team progress, player development, schedules, and program needs.
Address player and parent concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Maintain appropriate and professional communication with student-athletes at all times.

Transportation and Travel
Drive a school-provided van to transport student-athletes to and from all away games and competitions, as required.
Maintain a safe and professional environment while transporting student-athletes.
Complete any required driver training, clearances, or certifications necessary to operate a school vehicle.
Be available for the travel demands associated with the program.
Please note: The first year of the program will not include home games. All scheduled games will require travel to opposing schools or designated game locations.

Professional Development
Stay current with flag football rules, strategies, coaching techniques, and best practices.
Participate in required school and athletic department meetings and training.
Pursue professional development opportunities to strengthen coaching and leadership skills.

Qualifications
Previous coaching experience in high school, middle school, youth, or recreational flag football/sports is preferred.
Knowledge of flag football rules, strategies, fundamentals, and player development.
Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to motivate and mentor high school student-athletes.
Positive attitude and commitment to the academic, athletic, social, and emotional development of student-athletes.
Ability and willingness to drive a school van to transport the team to away games.
Must meet all requirements necessary to operate a school vehicle.
Must be able to obtain and maintain all required background clearances and employment requirements, including FBI fingerprinting, Child Abuse History Clearance, and a physical examination, as applicable.
Must be willing to comply with all Lincoln Leadership Academy Charter School policies and athletic department requirements.
