Job Description

Senior Director, Business Intelligence

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Director, Business Intelligence based in United States.

This senior leadership role owns the business-facing capability that turns operational data into trusted, actionable decisions across an enterprise environment. You will set priorities for reporting, analytics, and automation while ensuring investments are directly connected to measurable business outcomes. Working closely with Operations, Product, and Technology leaders, you will translate complex business needs into clear data and technology requirements. The role also provides strategic input into long-term data planning from an operational perspective, without owning the underlying data platform or engineering. You will build a prioritized roadmap and represent business needs in technology governance and investment discussions. This is a fully remote, enterprise-level opportunity requiring strong executive influence and cross-functional leadership.

Accountabilities:
  • Set enterprise priorities for operational reporting, dashboards, analytics, and automation, ensuring stakeholders have trusted, decision-ready information.
  • Lead business intelligence and analytics initiatives that generate actionable insights for Operations, Product, and executive leadership rather than simply delivering reports.
  • Identify and drive business process automation opportunities, including the practical application of AI and machine learning where they can improve speed, accuracy, efficiency, or cost.
  • Translate ambiguous and complex business priorities into clear, actionable data and technology requirements that platform and technology teams can effectively execute.
  • Serve as the primary business-side partner to Data, Product, and Technology teams, owning requirements definition, prioritization, and business validation of delivered solutions.
  • Influence long-term data strategy by bringing operational priorities and real-world business context into platform and architecture planning.
  • Build and maintain a prioritized roadmap of reporting, analytics, and automation initiatives based on operational impact and business value.
  • Represent business needs in technology governance and planning forums where data and automation investment priorities are established.
  • Establish clear accountability between business-facing priorities and technical platform ownership, ensuring close partnership without overlapping responsibilities.
  • Ensure reporting and automation initiatives are tied to measurable operational decisions and outcomes, with requirements clear enough to minimize rework and accelerate delivery.

Requirements:

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in business intelligence, analytics, business transformation, or a related field, including significant enterprise or cross-functional experience.
  • Demonstrated success setting organizational-level data and automation priorities rather than simply executing requirements established by others.
  • Proven ability to transform ambiguous, cross-functional business challenges into clear, buildable data and automation requirements.
  • Experience operating as a senior strategic peer to Technology or Data Platform organizations, influencing data strategy and priorities without directly owning engineering or architecture.
  • Strong track record of identifying and delivering business process automation at scale, including applying AI or machine learning to operational use cases.
  • Executive-level communication, stakeholder management, and influence skills, with the ability to establish, communicate, and defend priorities with senior Operations, Product, and Technology leaders.
  • Experience establishing or scaling an enterprise BI or analytics capability from a business-owned perspective is preferred.
  • Familiarity with modern data platform concepts, including cloud data warehousing, self-service BI tools, and workflow automation platforms, with sufficient knowledge to define strong requirements without requiring engineering-level expertise.
  • Experience working in post-merger or integration environments where operating models, responsibilities, and ownership boundaries are evolving is a plus.
  • Experience in healthcare technology, SaaS, or BPaaS is preferred.
  • Strong ability to collaborate across multiple teams and time zones in a distributed work environment.

Benefits:

  • Annual US base salary of $205,000 – $222,000.
  • Fully remote position within the United States.
  • Full-time, permanent employment.
  • Opportunity to shape enterprise-wide reporting, analytics, automation, and data strategy priorities.
  • Strategic partnership with senior Operations, Product, and Technology leadership.
  • Opportunity to drive AI-enabled process improvements and measurable operational transformation.
  • Work within a distributed environment spanning multiple time zones.
  • Additional travel may be required depending on business needs.
  • Source job description does not specify healthcare, retirement, paid time off, or other additional benefits.
