This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Vice President of Sales, Payor based in United States.
This executive sales role will lead new business growth across the Commercial and Private Payor healthcare market.
Reporting to the senior growth leadership team, you will identify, develop, and close high-value opportunities with regional and national health plans.
You’ll serve as a strategic advisor to senior healthcare executives, connecting their business challenges with data-driven solutions.
The role combines relationship building, consultative selling, proposal leadership, contracting, and long-term account growth.
You’ll work cross-functionally with product, sales operations, finance, and other internal teams to move complex opportunities from discovery through signature.
Success will be measured through strong pipeline development, multi-year contract wins, and meaningful revenue growth.

- Research and expand target prospect lists using platforms such as Definitive, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and other research methods.
- Identify, qualify, and develop new leads and opportunities from multiple sources, including prospecting, discovery conversations, and individual research.
- Build and cultivate relationships with prospective customers through strategic outreach, qualification, and consistent follow-up.
- Conduct thorough needs assessments to understand prospect challenges and position solutions against their specific business priorities.
- Build deep industry knowledge across the healthcare ecosystem and effectively communicate value propositions to Payor, health plan, health system, and ACO stakeholders.
- Own and drive proposal planning, development, and delivery for senior client executives.
- Lead the contract creation, legal review, negotiation, and signature process in collaboration with internal teams and client stakeholders.
- Develop relationships with C-level executives and purchasing leaders at strategic prospects to support business development and growth.
- Identify and help resolve challenges that could impact account retention, expansion opportunities, and customer referrals.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Sales Operations, Operations, Finance, and other stakeholders throughout the sales cycle.
- Ensure active opportunities have clear pursuit plans and participate in regular account review meetings with sales and line-of-business leaders.
- Provide accurate pipeline and financial forecasts to executive leadership.
- Maintain a complete and accurate sales funnel in Salesforce and ensure opportunities are consistently documented and updated.
- Become fully proficient in the solution portfolio and independently lead customer presentations and sales conversations.
- Progress toward closing an initial deal within the first six months and multiple deals within the first year.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5–7+ years of experience with a demonstrated track record of success in Payor or health plan sales and business expansion.
- Established relationships and a strong professional network across Commercial, Regional, and other health plan organizations.
- Strong credibility and industry knowledge within the Payor healthcare community.
- Proven ability to consistently secure multi-year, multi-million-dollar contracts with Payor organizations.
- Demonstrated expertise in complex, consultative enterprise sales cycles involving multiple executive stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of healthcare industry dynamics, value-based care, and the challenges facing health plans.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clearly communicate customer needs, commercial priorities, and deal risks.
- Strong business judgment and the ability to manage multiple strategic opportunities while maintaining accurate forecasts and pursuit plans.
- Willingness to continuously develop healthcare market knowledge and stay informed about evolving customer needs and industry trends.
