Position Overview:

The Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure a safe and compliant workplace. This position will lead all EH&S activities, ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA requirements, and foster a proactive safety culture throughout the organization. The EH&S Manager will also oversee hazardous materials management, employee training, incident investigations, and regulatory reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety Program Development & Implementation
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve company-wide health and safety policies, procedures, and programs.
• Establish and maintain a comprehensive Safety Management System (SMS).
• Conduct routine facility inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Lead safety initiatives focused on injury prevention, risk reduction, and continuous improvement.
• Develop emergency response plans, evacuation procedures, and business continuity plans.
• Promote a positive safety culture through employee engagement, communication, and training.

OSHA Compliance & Regulatory Reporting
• Ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA regulations and standards.
• Maintain OSHA logs and records, including OSHA 300, 300A, and 301 documentations.
• Coordinate and manage OSHA inspections and regulatory audits.
• Monitor regulatory changes and implement necessary updates to company policies and procedures.
• Prepare and submit required environmental, health, and safety reports to regulatory agencies.
• Maintain all required permits, licenses, and compliance documentation.

Hazardous Materials Management
• Develop and maintain hazardous materials management programs.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, labeling, transportation, and disposal of hazardous materials and waste.
• Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and chemical inventories.
• Ensure compliance with applicable EPA, OSHA, DOT, and local environmental regulations.
• Conduct periodic hazardous material audits and inspections.
• Support spill prevention, containment, and response planning.

Training & Employee Development
• Develop and deliver EH&S training programs for employees, supervisors, and managers.
• Coordinate required safety certifications and recurring training requirements.
• Lead new employee safety orientation programs.
• Maintain training records and compliance documentation.

Incident Management
• Lead investigations of workplace injuries, near misses, property damage incidents, and environmental events.
• Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Track safety performance metrics and develop action plans to improve results.
• Prepare incident reports and present findings to management.

Leadership & Continuous Improvement
• Serve as the primary EH&S subject matter expert for the organization.
• Partner with operations, facilities, engineering, quality, and human resources teams to integrate safety into daily operations.
• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and report EH&S performance to leadership.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing risk, improving compliance, and enhancing operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of EH&S experience in a manufacturing, aerospace, defense, industrial, or related environment.
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance requirements.
• Experience managing hazardous materials and environmental compliance programs.
• Experience conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EH&S recordkeeping systems.

Preferred
• Aerospace, defense, or FAA-regulated manufacturing experience.
• CSP, OHST, ASP, or CHMM certification.
• Experience with EPA, DOT, NFPA, and state environmental regulations.
• Experience supporting ISO 14001 and/or AS9100 environments.

Education:

· Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

· Standing and sitting for extended periods of time,

· Lifting up to 25 pounds in a safe and prudent manner,

· Ability to work and communicate well with other employees and management, customers, visitors, vendors.

· Ability to perform work utilizing manual dexterity of the hands,

· Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, reach above and below shoulders, and full use of upper extremities,

· Ability to easily move through an approximately 25,000 square foot warehouse building,

· Ability to read, write, and understand English,

· Correctable vision and hearing.
