Job Description
Under the general direction of the Director in charge, the Nurse Manager is responsible for the smooth and efficient patient flow within the department by delegating assignments, and providing supervision for the staff. This position provides leadership on a 24/7 basis to the nursing care team in order to provide for the patients’ needs while under medical care in the facility as well as to assess needs, plan, implement and evaluate patients’ nursing care. The nurse manager is responsible for one or more departments and has responsibility for operations, hiring, counseling staff and progressive discipline along with approving payroll and time records. The nurse manager is also responsible for the quality improvement outcomes and activities of the unit to which they manage.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed to practice in the state of NY (RN). Interventional radiology, critical care, telemetry and cardiac experience required. Current ACLS/BLS. Previous clinical leader/charge nurse, or similar leadership experience required. Considerable skills in dealing tactfully and effectively with a broad variety of individuals including physicians, management staff, clinical staff, patients, families, and others. Must be able to problem solve, handle emergencies, and have time management skills. Considerable skills in verbal and written communications are required, as well as computer knowledge and skills. Ability to manage process improvement projects and remain organized.
Salary: $35.98 - $48.69, DOE
8 or 10-hour days
8am-4pm
