Job Description

Responsibilities

The Gemologist's main responsibilities during this contract will be to :

  • Examine and identify gemstones using microscopes and other specialized equipment
  • Grade stones based on color, clarity, cut, and carat weight
  • Write reports documenting gemstone characteristics and appraisal
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Gemology or certification from recognized institutions like GIA or Gem-A
  • Proficiency with gemological instruments
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and certification in grading standards
  • Excellent communication skills for client consultation and report writing
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • English and French *Please note that due to the nature of the responsibilities of the position, a proficient level of English is required, in particular to communicate on a regular basis with employees as well as suppliers outside of Quebec.
