The Research and Development function is responsible for activities related to innovation, introduction of new products and services, or improvement of current products in accordance with established regulatory standards. The Pre-Clinical Research & Development area is responsible for both developing new products and completing investigational testing for new products. Identifies safe and efficacious products by conducting preclinical testing, which evaluates aspects of pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, and toxicology in in-vitro and in-vivo settings. The Laboratory Services focus specializes in directing, coordinating, and maintaining inventory of research materials and laboratory equipment. Ensures effective operation of all laboratory equipment and serves as the point of contact for instrument repairs. Responsible for development of tracking procedures with established vendors. This job family is in the support level category and the focus is on completing tasks or activities supporting implementation of procedures. Incumbents in this job level category typically require general education, vocational, and/or on-the-job training, and may provide direction to other employees with similar duties.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Performs a wide variety of laboratory tasks and experiments such as handling cell suspension, tissue slides, antibodies, and instruments for operation. Writes experimental reports, summaries and protocols to keep recording. May make detailed observations, analyze data and interpret results. Performs instrument maintenance by dis- and reassembling and cleaning. May perform limited troubleshooting of instruments. Manage and maintains inventory levels for laboratory supplies.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- B.S or MS in related Life Science field preferable, plus at least 5 years of Wet Lab experience, with preference for pathology experience.
- Experience working in the lab, handling flow cytometer or mass spectrometer, and having good laboratory techniques for cell culture, tissue slide preparation, immunostaining using antibodies, and troubleshooting capability for lab. equipment, are preferrable.
