As we continue expanding our national footprint, we are seeking a Director of Market Development to lead agency recruitment, partner development, and market growth initiatives throughout Texas.
Position SummaryThe Director of Market Development – Texas will be responsible for identifying, recruiting, developing, and retaining independent insurance agencies and agents throughout the state. This individual will serve as Carepoint's primary market representative, working closely with agency principals, carrier partners, and internal leadership to drive production growth and strengthen strategic relationships.
This role is ideal for a highly motivated insurance distribution professional with previous experience at an FMO, NMO, carrier, MGA, or large independent agency.
Key ResponsibilitiesMarket Development & Agency GrowthRecruit and develop new agency partnerships throughout Texas.
Identify high-potential agencies and producers aligned with Carepoint's growth strategy.
Develop and execute territory growth plans to increase agent and agency production.
Maintain a strong pipeline of prospective agency partners.
Serve as the primary relationship manager for key agencies within the territory.
Conduct regular agency visits, training sessions, and business reviews.
Build trusted relationships with agency principals, managers, and top producers.
Act as an advocate for agency partners within Carepoint.
Support agencies with growth strategies, carrier opportunities, and market expansion initiatives.
Collaborate with internal sales leadership to maximize enrollment growth and partner engagement.
Monitor agency performance and identify opportunities for increased production.
Maintain strong working relationships with carrier representatives and regional leadership teams.
Represent Carepoint at carrier meetings, conferences, industry events, and training sessions.
Stay informed on market trends, competitive activity, and carrier initiatives.
Partner with Contracting, Agency Services, Commissions, Operations, and Marketing teams to deliver an exceptional partner experience.
Assist with onboarding and activation of newly recruited agencies.
Escalate and help resolve partner concerns and operational challenges.
5+ years of experience in Medicare, ACA, or insurance distribution.
Prior experience with an FMO, NMO, MGA, health plan, carrier, or agency leadership organization.
Demonstrated success recruiting and developing independent agents or agencies.
Strong understanding of Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, PDP, and ACA products.
Ability to travel throughout Texas as needed.
Excellent relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills.
Existing network of agency principals and insurance professionals throughout Texas.
Experience working with national and regional health plans.
CRM experience, preferably Salesforce.
