Mechanic - 11:45 pm - 8:15 am in EAST LIBERTY, Ohio at TRANSPORTATION RESEARCH CENTER INC.

Purpose

To provide expert repair, diagnostics, measurements, and preparation of customer and TRC vehicles, as well as maintain a professional appearance and customer-focused attitude

Essential Functions*

Perform mechanical services such as general maintenance, diagnostics, repair, inspections, and measurements

Record and report activities, equipment, and supply usage accurately

Communicate problems quickly and accurately

Coordinate and schedule vehicle maintenance

Use critical thinking and expertise to perform non-standardized assignments

Other Duties and Responsibilities (Non-Essential Functions)

Follow safety procedures; wear protective equipment including safety glasses and steel-toed shoes

Maintain shop equipment and cleanliness

Produce accurate project and task reports

Produce test results and documentation

Follow standard work methods on assignments but receives specific instructions on unfamiliar assignments

Selects and installs test equipment

Work with minimal supervision

Support TRC Inc.’s Quality and EH&S (Environmental, Health, and Safety) efforts

Qualifications

High school diploma is required

Minimum of three years’ experience

In-depth knowledge of vehicle systems

Basic knowledge of electronic instrumentation

Valid driver’s license

Basic computer skills

Basic knowledge of vehicle systems

Basic knowledge of safe and proper tool and equipment use

Familiarity with automotive diagnostic systems and processes

Proficient in the proper use of automotive tools and equipment

Strong communication skills

Working conditions

May be exposed to temperatures under 0 degrees and above 95 degrees

May be exposed to inclement weather

May be exposed to hazardous chemicals, such as gas, oil, and paint

Physical requirements

Ability to move objects up to 50 pounds

Capable of positioning one’s self into bending, stretching, climbing, or awkward positions

Ability to enter work times into a computer
