Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a CADD Designer – Waterway Structures based in the United States.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the design and development of critical water infrastructure projects, including waterways, dams, levees, and stormwater systems. You will be involved in transforming early-stage concepts and sketches into detailed, high-quality construction drawings that support essential civil and environmental engineering projects. The position combines technical CAD expertise with hands-on design responsibility, covering everything from grading and drainage analysis to utility coordination and earthwork calculations. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams and contribute to the delivery of complex infrastructure that has a direct impact on communities and the environment. This is a growth-oriented role where attention to detail, technical accuracy, and design creativity are highly valued. The environment is collaborative and mentorship-driven, offering exposure to experienced engineers and advanced waterway design practices. The role is well-suited for candidates looking to deepen their expertise in civil design and water infrastructure systems.
In this role, you will support the design and production of detailed waterway structure drawings and engineering deliverables across a variety of infrastructure projects. Your responsibilities include:
- Developing and detailing construction drawings from sketches, notes, and technical inputs using CAD software
- Producing computer-generated drawings, models, and visualizations including terrain models, surfaces, and isometric views
- Performing grading, stormwater, utility, and erosion and sediment control design tasks
- Calculating earthwork volumes, quantity takeoffs, and supporting cost estimation efforts
- Preparing concept layouts, design plans, and project exhibits for water infrastructure projects
- Conducting drainage area calculations and steep slope analysis for design compliance
- Ensuring adherence to established CAD standards, layering protocols, and drawing procedures
- Coordinating details, dimensions, and technical information across multiple drawing sheets and disciplines
- Collaborating with project teams to support timely and accurate project delivery
- Supporting increasingly complex design assignments as technical proficiency develops
