This executive leadership role is responsible for defining and evolving a national External Expert Engagement ecosystem that operates as a Center of Excellence across the U.S. healthcare environment. The position establishes a hybrid operating model combining headquarters leadership and field-enabled teams to ensure consistency, scalability, and compliance in External Expert interactions. It transforms engagement strategies into enterprise-wide intelligence that informs commercial, medical, and educational decision-making. The role drives the shift from localized relationship management to a centralized, insight-driven framework that maximizes strategic value. It also ensures External Expert engagement is prioritized, governed, and aligned across therapeutic areas. Operating as a senior enterprise leader, the role integrates strategy, analytics, and governance to optimize impact. This is a highly visible position with influence across cross-functional and senior stakeholders.
This role defines and governs the enterprise External Expert Engagement strategy and ensures its execution across HQ and field-enabled teams. It establishes scalable operating standards and builds an insight-driven ecosystem that elevates decision-making across the organization.
- Lead the design and evolution of the national External Expert Engagement strategy and hybrid operating model across HQ and field teams
- Establish governance, standards, and segmentation frameworks for External Expert prioritization and engagement quality
- Build and oversee a Center of Excellence, including playbooks, training frameworks, and enterprise-wide best practices
- Drive the full insight lifecycle (capture, synthesis, prioritization, activation) to inform brand, medical, and commercial strategies
- Partner with Data, AI, and Commercial Excellence teams to enhance analytics, automation, and insight generation capabilities
- Ensure strategic congress and external engagement planning with strong pre- and post-event insight activation
- Lead organizational alignment, capacity management, and decision-right clarity across a hybrid structure
This role requires deep expertise in healthcare/pharmaceutical environments, strong enterprise leadership experience, and the ability to operate effectively across complex matrix organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field; advanced degree or MBA preferred
- 10+ years of leadership experience, including 5+ years in TLL, account management, or related roles
- Proven experience building or leading a Center of Excellence or enterprise operating model across multiple therapeutic areas
- Strong track record of enterprise strategy ownership and transformation in regulated environments
- Experience leading hybrid organizations, including governance, capacity planning, and field/HQ alignment
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive cross-functional alignment
- Strong analytical literacy with the ability to interpret and apply AI/data-driven insights (non-technical)
- Excellent executive communication skills with ability to deliver clear, decision-ready narratives
- Proven ability in talent development, succession planning, and capability building
- Strong systems thinking, agility, and ability to manage competing priorities under constraint
- Competitive base salary range: $236,600 – $439,400 annually (based on experience and qualifications)
