Job Description
Pay Range: $21.50 – $23.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
Position Summary
The Assistant Manager supports the General Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations. This position provides leadership during assigned shifts and ensures compliance with company standards related to food safety, guest service, cleanliness, cost control, and team development.
This is a working, non-exempt supervisory position requiring both leadership and hands-on operational support.
Reporting Structure
Reports to the General Manager.
Supervises Shift Leaders and hourly team members during assigned shifts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Leads and supervises assigned shifts to ensure operational standards are met
- Ensures Quality, Service, and Cleanliness (QSC) standards are maintained
- Monitors labor deployment and adjusts staffing assignments based on sales volume
- Assists in managing labor, food cost, and inventory controls
- Conducts inventory counts and verifies deliveries
- Ensures compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
- Oversees opening and closing procedures, including security protocols
- Accounts for company funds and ensures proper cash handling and banking procedures
- Ensures meal and rest break compliance in accordance with California labor laws
- Coaches and develops team members; escalates significant performance concerns to the General Manager
- Assists in recruiting, interviewing, and training employees
- Responds to guest concerns and ensures timely resolution
- Completes administrative duties including scheduling support, invoice processing, maintenance logging, and required reporting
- Fills in at workstations as needed to support operations
- Implements new products, programs, and procedures as directed by the General Manager
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Minimum 2 years of restaurant supervisory experience preferred, or demonstrated leadership experience within the restaurant
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer and math skills
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must possess or obtain and maintain a current ServSafe Manager (Food Protection Manager) Certification as required by the California Retail Food Code. If certification is obtained after hire, the Company will cover the cost of required training and examination.

This is a non-exempt, hourly position.
