About Lone Mountain Ranch

For more than 100 years, Lone Mountain Ranch has welcomed guests to beautiful Big Sky, Montana. Set on 148 acres just minutes from Yellowstone National Park, the Ranch is known for authentic Western hospitality, exceptional dining, outdoor adventures, and unforgettable guest experiences.

The beauty of the Ranch may be what guests remember first, but it's the people who create the experiences they remember most. Together, we take pride in caring for this special place—preserving its history, stewarding its natural surroundings, and creating meaningful experiences for every guest who visits.

Whether you're welcoming guests, preparing memorable meals, caring for our historic property, or supporting operations behind the scenes, every role contributes to creating unforgettable experiences while helping shape the next chapter of Lone Mountain Ranch's legacy.

Create Unforgettable Evenings

Dinner service at Lone Mountain Ranch is one of the defining experiences of a guest's stay. Every interaction, every recommendation, and every detail contributes to an evening guests will remember long after they leave Montana.

As a PM Server, you'll provide polished, attentive service while confidently guiding guests through thoughtfully prepared cuisine, handcrafted cocktails, and curated wine selections. This role is designed for hospitality professionals who take pride in their knowledge, anticipate guest needs before they're spoken, and understand that exceptional service is created through consistency, teamwork, and genuine care.

What You'll Do
  • Deliver warm, polished, and highly attentive dinner service.
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of seasonal menus, ingredients, preparation methods, wine selections, cocktails, spirits, and nightly features.
  • Confidently guide guests through menu selections, wine pairings, cocktail selections, and dining recommendations.
  • Anticipate guest needs while maintaining a composed, professional presence throughout service.
  • Collaborate closely with the culinary, bar, host, and support teams to create a seamless dining experience.
  • Accurately enter orders, process payments, and maintain exceptional attention to detail throughout each guest interaction.
  • Maintain immaculate dining rooms and service stations before, during, and after service.
  • Uphold all food safety, sanitation, responsible alcohol service, and cash handling standards.
  • Contribute to a culture where teamwork, accountability, and exceptional hospitality define every shift.
Who Thrives Here

You'll thrive here if you:

  • Take genuine pride in creating memorable guest experiences.
  • Appreciate exceptional food, elevated service, and the details that transform dinner into an experience.
  • Enjoy continually expanding your culinary, wine, and spirits knowledge.
  • Stay calm, organized, and attentive during fast-paced dinner service.
  • Hold yourself to a high standard while remaining humble, approachable, and collaborative.
  • Believe exceptional guest experiences are built through teamwork rather than individual performance.
  • Value consistency, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Embrace the rhythm of seasonal hospitality and enjoy working hard during the season while looking forward to time to recharge during the off-season.
What You'll Bring

You'll be successful in this role if you have:

  • Previous serving experience in an upscale, chef-driven, destination, or fine dining restaurant where exceptional hospitality and attention to detail were expected.
  • Strong knowledge of food service, dining etiquette, wine, spirits, cocktails, and guest engagement.
  • Excellent communication skills and a polished, professional presence.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • The flexibility and commitment to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying seasonal schedules.
  • A collaborative mindset with a willingness to support teammates and contribute wherever needed.
  • A commitment to delivering exceptional hospitality with consistency and professionalism.
  • A current Montana Alcohol Server Certification prior to your first day of employment.

You'll stand out if you also have:

  • Experience serving in an award-winning, destination, or high-volume seasonal restaurant.
  • Knowledge of wine pairings and premium spirits.
  • Experience confidently presenting seasonal menus, chef features, and thoughtfully pairing food and beverages.
  • A genuine passion for hospitality, culinary experiences, and continuous learning.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand and walk for extended periods throughout each shift.
  • Frequently carry trays, plates, beverages, and service equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Bend, reach, stoop, and lift throughout the workday.
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Maintain professionalism, energy, and hospitality throughout extended dinner service.
Why Join Lone Mountain Ranch?

If you're passionate about hospitality and believe exceptional service is found in the details, you'll find your place here. Dinner service at Lone Mountain Ranch is built on professionalism, teamwork, and a shared commitment to creating memorable experiences for every guest. You'll work alongside talented culinary and hospitality professionals who take pride in their craft, challenge one another to continually improve, and understand that great restaurants are built by great teams.

Our season is demanding, and we embrace that. During our operating season, we work hard, support one another, and deliver exceptional experiences every day. In return, many members of our team enjoy the opportunity to step away during the off-season to travel, recharge, pursue other passions, or simply enjoy a change of pace before returning for another successful season. If you're looking for a role that challenges you professionally, rewards your commitment to excellence, and offers the unique rhythm of seasonal hospitality, we'd love to meet you.
