Key Responsibilities

Quivera Enterprises, LLC is seeking an experienced Information Technology Specialist III / System Administrator III to provide advanced operational and infrastructure support for a mission-critical enterprise datacenter environment supporting the Indian Health Service (IHS). This position serves as a senior technical resource responsible for maintaining the availability, security, and performance of enterprise systems across Microsoft Windows, Linux, and VMware environments.

The Information Technology Specialist III / System Administrator III functions as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Shared Services Enterprise Datacenter operations, providing Tier III technical support, leading infrastructure initiatives, and supporting enterprise modernization efforts. The ideal candidate possesses strong systems administration experience, exceptional troubleshooting skills, and the ability to independently manage complex technical projects while ensuring operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Administer, maintain, and support enterprise Microsoft Windows and Linux server environments.
  • Perform daily systems administration activities, including server maintenance, patch management, account administration, monitoring, and issue resolution.
  • Provide Tier III operational and technical support for escalated infrastructure incidents.
  • Execute enterprise backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures for Data Operations Center (DOC) systems.
  • Perform hardware and software upgrades, system configuration, resource allocation, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
  • Administer and troubleshoot VMware virtualization infrastructure.
  • Monitor enterprise systems utilizing Microsoft management tools and datacenter monitoring solutions.
  • Support physical datacenter operations, including environmental monitoring systems, DCIM applications, and physical security technologies.
  • Develop, maintain, and update technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), system diagrams, and project documentation.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Visual Basic, .NET, C#, or other scripting languages to improve operational efficiency.
  • Lead infrastructure implementation projects, system upgrades, migrations, and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate technical activities across multiple departments and project teams.
  • Analyze and resolve highly complex infrastructure issues with minimal supervision.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for enterprise datacenter technologies, infrastructure standards, and operational best practices.
  • Participate in system maintenance windows, scheduled upgrades, and emergency response activities as required.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational security standards, policies, and applicable federal regulations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, changes, configurations, and system performance metrics.
  • Provide technical mentoring and guidance to junior support personnel when appropriate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience administering enterprise server infrastructure.
  • Extensive experience supporting enterprise datacenter operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server operating systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems.
  • Hands-on experience administering VMware virtualization environments.
  • Experience supporting enterprise backup and recovery operations.
  • Knowledge of Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) platforms.
  • Experience supporting physical datacenter monitoring and security systems.
  • Experience using Microsoft enterprise management tools.
  • Ability to develop scripts utilizing PowerShell, Visual Basic, .NET, C#, or similar scripting languages.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Ability to successfully obtain and maintain all required government background investigations and system access.
Required Certifications

In accordance with contract requirements, employees assigned to this position must obtain the following certifications within three (3) months of onboarding:

  • CompTIA Server+ CE
  • CompTIA Cloud+ CE
  • CompTIA Security+ CE

Employees must also successfully complete all Indian Health Service (IHS) required training throughout the period of performance.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting federal government information technology environments.
  • Experience supporting Indian Health Service (IHS) enterprise infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with federal cybersecurity and operational compliance requirements.
  • Experience working within shared services or multi-tenant enterprise datacenter environments.
  • Knowledge of ITIL service management principles.
  • Experience supporting enterprise storage, virtualization, and cloud technologies.
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring, automation, and infrastructure optimization initiatives.
Physical Demands – IT Office/Technical Role

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee, with or without reasonable accommodation.

This position is primarily office-based and requires prolonged periods of sitting, typing, and working at a computer workstation. The employee may occasionally be required to stand, walk, bend, reach, or lift equipment weighing up to 15 pounds. Occasional travel to customer locations or datacenter facilities may be required.

The employee must possess sufficient visual acuity to work with computer equipment and technical documentation and must be able to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and team members.

Work Environment

Work is primarily performed in a professional office and enterprise datacenter environment. The position may require occasional after-hours support, scheduled maintenance windows, emergency response activities, and participation in an on-call rotation to support mission-critical systems. Employees must adhere to all organizational safety, security, and information assurance policies.

  • Implement and maintain industry-standard physical security tools and applications for enterprise data centers.
  • Apply knowledge of DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) tools.
  • Develop scripts and automation using Visual Basic, .NET, C#, PowerShell, or other scripting languages.
  • Maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of EHR systems, networks, and data through information security programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Create and maintain project management documentation, technical reports, and operational guides.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate Degree, certificate from a technical training institute, or combination of education and equivalent experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) or higher preferred; certifications or additional experience may substitute for degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of IT experience (with at least 3 years supporting IT at the server/data center level).
  • Experience supporting federal government IT systems, with preference for EHR system support.

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting EHR platforms (RPMS, VA VistA, DoD CHCS, or similar federal healthcare systems).
  • Experience with DCIM tools, enterprise monitoring systems, and automation frameworks.
  • Industry certifications in system administration, virtualization, or information security.
