Territory Sales Representative

About the Role

Location: Colorado

Role Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Department: National Sales Force (NSF)

Work Environment: Field-Based

Role Purpose: The Territory Sales Representative at Creeden & Associates is responsible for driving sales and brand visibility for leading manufacturers within independent retail hardware stores. This role combines consultative selling, in-store merchandising, and physical resets to optimize product placement and sales. By building strong relationships with store owners and managers, the representative becomes a trusted product expert and brand ambassador for our manufacturer partners. Strategic account management and timely follow-up are key to achieving sales growth and ensuring the success of both retail customers and manufacturer partners.

Main Responsibilities

Sales & Customer Engagement

• Conduct consultative sales presentations to independent hardware retailers, introducing new products, line expansions, and promotional programs.

• Conduct thorough store walks (10-15 minutes) prior to meetings to assess current inventory, available shelf space, and merchandising opportunities.

• Tailor product pitches based on store needs, using both sell sheets and digital tools.

• Maintain preset appointments with key decision-makers.

• Meet or exceed goals for daily store visits (4–6) and in-store presentations (5–7 per store).

• Present all manufacturers or assigned product lines at least once per day, adapting to changes in line priority as directed by management.

Account Management & Reporting

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with store personnel, ensuring ongoing satisfaction and retention.

• Enter sales data, action reports, and customer requests into proprietary CRM tools (OAR) in a timely and accurate manner.

• Maintain current territory account data, including store contact information, visit notes, and presentation tracking.

• Plan store visits at least 10 days in advance (using GPS planner), with clear goals and priorities for each visit.

• Participate in special projects including product surveys, in-store training, or photo documentation.

Trade Show & Event Participation

• Represent Creeden and our manufacturer partners by attending, engaging in, and driving meaningful conversations at customer trade shows, including working booths, showcasing products, and maximizing visibility and sales opportunities.

• Carry out booth setup and tear down for manufacturer displays, ensuring all materials are professionally arranged before the show and properly packed and accounted for after.

Store Resets

• Execute full product resets by following updated planograms or manufacturer guidelines, including physically moving, organizing, and stocking hundreds of SKUs.

Travel Requirements

This position requires approximately 70–80% travel, including in-territory visits to retail stores, attendance at trade shows, and store resets.

• In-territory travel may involve driving up to 6 hours from home and staying overnight in hotels 3–4 nights per week.

• Trade show travel requires flying to other states and being away from home for up to 7 consecutive days, including weekends.

• Store resets may require additional travel, either in-territory or out-of-territory, with overnight stays as needed to complete the merchandising tasks.

About the Team

Function: The National Sales Force serves as the primary interface between Creeden’s manufacturer partners and independent retail hardware stores across the country. Through consultative selling, strategic account management, and in-store merchandising/reset support, the team delivers compelling product presentations, drives execution at the store level, and supports sustained growth for both customers and manufacturers. Each Territory Sales Representative acts as a trusted advisor to customers—helping them optimize product assortments, introduce new programs, and enhance their overall retail success.
