Job Description
We are looking for a highly passionate and driven Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Engineering team. In this role, you will support software delivery by planning, running and evaluating manual and automated tests in order to ensure high quality product delivery for our customers.
This is a hands-on technical role, ideal for someone who has practical knowledge of industry standard software stacks and development tools, as you will need to assess risks and testing practices based on the inner workings and interoperability of our components.
The role requires - at least - theoretical programming and/or test automation knowledge - experience of using agentic AI is highly desirable to become a productive member of the wider team. Networking knowledge is an advantage, but not essential.
The primary focus of this role is to work as a member of the development team to maintain and improve the quality of the systems being deployed
Understand requirements, specifications, and how Megaport products work in general as the basis for formulating or executing effective automated and manual tests
Create and maintain comprehensive and effective test plans and test cases
Run and maintain automated test suites - possibly including designing and implementing those
Learn about and use industry standard development and testing tools & strategies
Hands-on experience manual testing web applications and APIs
Experience working in an Agile corporate environment is an advantage - including knowledge of Jira & Confluence
Understanding test methodologies (e.g. Test Pyramid) and their trade-offs across unit, integration and E2E layers
Reliable, fast-learner with self-drive, initiative and inquisitiveness that can pick up tasks and drive them relentlessly to completion.
Experience with testing tools / frameworks like Postman, Cucumber, Playwright or Katalon.
Familiar with at least one scripting language and/or test automation framework.
Actual programming experience (e.g. Java and Typescript) is an advantage
Demonstrated technical capability of understanding IT development & system stacks (such as LAMP, SQL database), including Git, CI/CD tools
Honest mindset with the ability to work in a transparent and collaborative manner.
Knowledge of Telco and networking industry products and processes will be well regarded.
