Preventive Maintenance Technician
Job Summary: The Preventative Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance on equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns. This role involves inspecting, testing, and servicing equipment to identify and address potential issues before they cause disruptions to production. The technician will use MaintainX to track maintenance activities and ensure compliance with maintenance schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance and Inspection:
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment and machinery according to established schedules using MaintainX.
- Identify and address potential issues to prevent equipment failures and production downtime.
- Test equipment to ensure it is operating correctly and efficiently.
Troubleshooting and Repairs:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment problems, making necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to resolve complex issues and implement long-term solutions.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and parts used, in MaintainX.
- Report any significant issues or recurring problems to the Maintenance Manager.
Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ensure equipment and machinery are handled safely to prevent accidents and equipment damage.
- Participate in safety training and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.
Operational Support:
- Collaborate with production team members to minimize equipment downtime and meet production goals.
- Suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
Non-Essential Functions:
- Assist other tradespersons as assigned.
- Support other departments as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Mechanical certification or licensure is a plus.
Required Experience:
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures related to maintenance work.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of Microsoft programs
Travel Requirements: Minimal to no travel
