Presbyterian Village North is immediately hiring a Full Time Catering/Events Supervisor.

Shift: Full-Time M-F primarily; can vary to include for events as needed.

Under general supervision of assigned manager, supervise all catered events, including in-house catered events and off-site locations. This includes various service styles, such as box lunch and full coursed dinners for residents, families of residents, staff, and marketing prospects, as well as corporate office events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Models a service attitude towards others, takes ownership in solving problems and takes the initiative to make things better, is friendly and courteous to residents, patients, and co-workers

Ensure resident/patient, visitor, and co-worker safety by remaining aware of and reporting any new or existing safety hazards

Maintain good attendance record; arrive at work on time and conform to scheduled work hours set by manager

Wear and use appropriate protective gear and equipment, i.e., aprons, hair nets

Perform all job duties safely

Plan and coordinate all aspects of catering, including meeting with clients, service activities, sanitation, and fiscal responsibilities

Work with management and staff to ensure cost effective pricing and generate positive

revenue from events

Supervise staff during all aspects of catered events to ensure high quality service standards and presentations are met

Meet with clients to coordinate event-specific details and special requests and develop plans to fulfill or exceed clients expectations

Create then use information on function sheets to coordinate food and beverage services for scheduled events

Provide and communicate a layout/diagram of catering events, including details of table service and menus

Maintain high sanitation and safety standards in all catering storage rooms and other catering areas

Control all labor schedules in accordance with budgeted costs

Acquire and maintain knowledge of current food and catering trends

Maintain proper stock level of all catering equipment

Assist with hiring, training, evaluating, and supervising of all catering staff, including

completing staff schedules and providing information about catering events to staff

Other duties as assigned by Director of CulinaryServices

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or GED is required

Food Handlers Certification is required

Three years of experience in catering or related food service area

Associate degree and one year, or combination of experience and higher education equal to three years

Strong supervisory and interpersonal skills

Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral format

Knowledge of food preparation, presentation and customer service

Ability to read, write and effectively communicate in English

Proficient with computers and software programs, such as Microsoft Office products

Ability to provide instructions and give directions to complete daily routine

Genuine caring for and interest in the care of mature adults, special needs, and hospice patients

Ability to perform work tasks within the Physical Demand Requirements

Ability to comply with the Resident Bill of Rights and the Employee Responsibilities

Ability to comply with organizational and departmental safety policies and procedures
