This leadership role is responsible for planning, preparing, and executing construction and commissioning activities across major energy and infrastructure projects in Quebec.
You will provide operational leadership to site teams while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within agreed budgets.
The position requires strong field presence and close collaboration with major customers, contractors, project teams, and regional stakeholders.
You will oversee workforce planning, site readiness, construction execution, logistics, quality, cost control, and performance across multiple active sites.
The role is particularly suited to an experienced construction leader comfortable operating in remote and demanding environments, including northern and winter conditions.
You will also serve as a trusted customer-facing representative, helping resolve complex issues and strengthen project execution.
Success requires a combination of technical expertise, operational discipline, financial awareness, and strong people leadership.

• Construction leadership: Lead the planning, preparation, execution, and commissioning activities for construction projects across Quebec, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.
• Team leadership: Direct, coach, and develop Technical Field Advisors, site superintendents, and other field personnel, establishing clear responsibilities, measurable objectives, and strong performance expectations.
• Workforce planning: Manage site resource allocation, identify staffing requirements, secure key personnel, and coordinate temporary or specialized resources as required.
• Site preparation: Ensure plans, permits, safety documentation, personnel, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and logistics are in place before construction begins.
• Regional planning: Incorporate the challenges of remote and northern projects into construction plans, including winter conditions, geographic isolation, limited access, extended supply timelines, workforce availability, accommodation, transportation, and camp logistics.
• Scheduling and execution: Develop and validate detailed site schedules, resource plans, work sequencing, and critical paths while monitoring progress and implementing corrective actions when deviations occur.
• Health, safety, and quality: Promote a strong EHS culture and ensure compliance with applicable client requirements, provincial regulations, construction safety standards, quality plans, inspection procedures, and project-specific controls.
• Contractor management: Coordinate subcontractors, monitor contractual performance and progress, resolve operational disputes, and manage claims and site-level issues.
• Labour and regulatory compliance: Ensure compliance with applicable CCQ requirements, trade classifications, collective agreements, and working conditions for remote and regional construction sites.
• Stakeholder and community relations: Maintain constructive relationships with customers, engineering firms, contractors, unions, regulatory bodies, and Indigenous communities affected by project activities.
• Financial management: Monitor site costs, validate estimates at completion, analyze variances, and identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce costs while accounting for regional cost pressures.
• Project reporting: Provide regular updates to regional leadership covering construction progress, risks, active issues, financial performance, resource requirements, and mitigation plans.
• Technical coordination: Participate in critical design reviews and promote solutions that improve safety, constructability, maintainability, and execution efficiency.
• Customer engagement: Maintain a proactive field presence with key customers and act as a trusted operational point of contact, representing the organization in site meetings, inspections, project reviews, and issue-resolution discussions.

• Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably electrical, civil, construction, or a related discipline, or equivalent technical education combined with significant relevant experience.
• Construction experience: At least 10 years of experience managing construction sites or executing projects, ideally within the energy, utilities, electrical infrastructure, or industrial sectors.
• Leadership experience: 3–5 years of experience supervising or managing construction teams, including site managers, technical advisors, technicians, or equivalent field personnel.
• Industry knowledge: Strong experience with energy infrastructure, transmission projects, electrical substations, hydroelectric facilities, or comparable large-scale construction projects in Quebec is highly valued.
• Quebec regulatory expertise: Strong knowledge of CNESST requirements, the Quebec Construction Safety Code, applicable provincial construction legislation, CCQ requirements, and collective agreements, particularly those governing remote or northern sites.
• Language skills: Fluency in French is required, with functional English proficiency for internal communications.
• Safety leadership: Demonstrated commitment to EHS excellence and the ability to establish a positive safety culture in challenging, remote, and potentially hazardous environments.
• Field leadership: Ability to motivate, coach, and coordinate teams working in geographically isolated locations and demanding weather conditions.
• Autonomy and resilience: Comfortable making timely decisions independently while maintaining alignment with regional leadership and broader project objectives.
• Planning and organization: Strong ability to anticipate risks, structure site preparation activities, manage competing priorities, and coordinate multiple projects across a geographically extensive territory.
• Financial acumen: Understanding of construction cost control, forecasting, budget management, and project financial performance.
• Stakeholder management: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with customers, contractors, employees, unions, Indigenous communities, regulators, and other stakeholders.
• Project management tools: Proficiency with planning and project management tools such as MS Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent platforms.
• Regional expertise: Familiarity with major Quebec energy and infrastructure stakeholders, local contractors and subcontractors, labour structures, and the operational realities of remote communities is strongly preferred.
• Mobility: Willingness and ability to maintain a strong field presence and travel between active construction sites throughout the region.
