This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Intermediate Construction Surveyor based in Canada.

This role offers the opportunity to support major heavy civil construction projects across Canada, including remote and challenging sites.
You will plan and execute construction surveying activities that directly support project delivery and site operations.
Your work will include construction layout, structural modeling, as-built surveys, drafting, and quantity calculations.
You will use modern surveying equipment and software to produce accurate, reliable deliverables for clients and project teams.
The position combines hands-on fieldwork with technical analysis, documentation, and coordination responsibilities.
You will work independently and alongside project teams in a collaborative, technology-enabled remote environment.

• Plan and coordinate construction surveying and drafting activities for heavy civil construction projects across Canada.
• Conduct and oversee field surveys required to support construction activities, including modeling and layout of critical structures.
• Complete as-built surveys and analyze collected data to support project documentation and progress claims.
• Perform quantity calculations based on survey data and prepare accurate information for project reporting.
• Prepare and maintain drawings for pre-construction planning, interim deliverables, close-out documentation, and related reporting.
• Maintain complete and accurate survey records, field documentation, and project deliverables.
• Operate, manage, and maintain surveying instruments, equipment, and related assets.
• Ensure survey activities and deliverables comply with applicable safety policies, quality management systems, and standard operating procedures.
• Collaborate effectively with project teams, clients, and colleagues while managing priorities and meeting demanding construction schedules.
• Work safely and effectively in outdoor environments, including remote locations and varying weather conditions.

• Associate degree or college diploma in surveying, geomatics, construction, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of professional surveying experience, preferably within construction or heavy civil projects.
• Strong ability to read, interpret, and work from construction drawings and technical documentation.
• Hands-on experience operating DGPS equipment such as Trimble R12 or equivalent, Total Station equipment such as SX10 or equivalent, and drones such as Phantom 4 Pro or equivalent.
• Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD Civil 3D or comparable modeling and engineering-focused drafting software.
• Knowledge of applicable occupational health and safety legislation and a demonstrated commitment to safe working practices.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, establish high standards of quality and safety, and contribute effectively within a team.
• Strong work ethic, organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage tight timelines in active construction environments.
• Physical ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and regularly carry surveying equipment weighing up to 20 kg.
• Valid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean driving record.
• Must currently reside in Canada and be legally eligible to work in Canada.
